Çiftlikköy Martyrdom Mehmet Monument
About
Located in the Çiftlik Neighborhood of Çeşme, opposite the seaside Captain's School, it was built in memory of the soldiers who fell in the War of Independence.
A reused column with a square plinth, a single-toroid structure, and a broken top is inscribed with an inscription. The inscription depicts a crescent moon and a fruit-bearing olive branch. It stands on a podium accessed by two steps and has a five-tiered, high base, and an inscribed column. The top of the column is cut diagonally, and a crescent star motif is carved into this section. The inscription on the column reads "Monument to Martyr Mehmet, Heroes of the War of 1914."
