Seyit Ahmet, son of Ahmet
Biography
On September 9, 1922, the Turkish Army reached Halkapınar (the location of today's Metro/Izban station) from Bornova, just minutes before embarking on their victory march along the Kordon. However, at that very spot, four Turkish soldiers, including Seyit Ahmet, son of Ahmet, were killed by gunfire from Greeks hiding in the building that is now used as a vocational training center.
