Ibrahim Hakkı, son of Omer
Biography
On September 9, 1922, the Turkish Army reached Halkapınar (the location of today's Metro/Izban station) from Bornova, just minutes before embarking on their victory march along the Kordon. However, at that very spot, four Turkish soldiers, including Sergeant İbrahim Hakkı, son of Ömer; were killed by gunfire from Greeks hiding in the building that is now used as a vocational training center.
